Greetings to the people who helped us with this well: There are 100 people in our rural area. Before we had this well we got our water from the irrigation ditches from the rice fields. People would get sick with stomach problems and infections from this drainage water. This new pump is wonderful because we don’t have to walk so far along the busy highway and there’ll be less sickness from having to drink from the irrigation water. We have a pump caretaker, who’ll make sure that the pump is used properly and that no one takes baths or does laundry close to the well. He’ll also make sure animals are kept far from the pump. If we have any problems with the pump, Edrick, who drilled our well has given us his phone number and know where his office is. Our main source of income comes from farming but some folks have shops and sell food. Thank you so much for the new well and pump! We are very grateful to you for helping us meet the need for our community. I’ve had this request in for 2 years to another agency and now Lifewater Haiti has made it come true. May the grace of God be with you! Wesly Predistin, Caretaker & Mr. Cassec, Community representative
