A message from the community

Dear Helpers, Yugi Women Group was started by a group of women whose aim was to try and assist individual members in acquiring household wares like utensils and animals to raise. This has been going on over the years and there is one thing that remained a big problem that is affecting both the group activities and the general lives of families, particularily the girl child. The community members need water and our source before the provided borehole has been a stream that is again seasonal, ponds and roof catchment when it rains. The animals also need water to do well, so even with the animals availed to members through the group, has not been doing well because of lack of safe drinking water. The girl child, who traditionally and culturally, is the one to help the mother in domestic chores, have to wake-up very early to find the water still settled, as the same water point is being used with both human and animals. The result has been the girls do not perform as boys when it comes to examinations. With the provided water point, courtesy of Lifewater Canada through GWAKO Ministires, we automatically see things headed for the better, as the lives of both our animals and ourselves will improve tremendously. Water, and not just water, but safe drinking water, is now available when you need it, giving us time to attend to other economical activites. The performance of the girl child will dramatically improve as they are now having equal learning time with their boy counterparts. Long you live long and may God Bless the works of your hands! Yugi Women's Group
