It is with my heart of gratitude that I write this letter to appreciate you, my brothers and sisters, for choosing to support Maranatha Faith Assembly Church with a new water tank. We are now able to harvest and store rainwater for church activities. Thank you for touching our lives in a big way. Regards, Bishop Peter Maina, Maranatha Faith Assembly Church
Maranatha Faith Assemblies is in Njoro, in Kenya's Nakuru County. It has 160 members. The church used to need $22 CAD every month to buy water for baptism ceremonies and other functions. Sometimes members could not afford the $22 CAD, says Bishop Peter Maina, a church leader, so the baptism or other function had to be cancelled or postponed. Then Lifewater Canada donors provided a rainwater catchment system that includes a 10,000-litre storage tank and hand-washing station. Now the church is harvesting rainwater and storing it for drinking, washing, baptisms, and other functions. Peter says the $22 CAD his church is saving because members no longer need to buy water is being used instead to buying church equipment. “The church is growing, a step at a time. I am thankful that Lifewater Canada has taken the biggest step for us. The storage tank is a blessing. I am thankful.”
