Safe Drinking Water Supply
2008-07-18
Dear sir Water is now flowing to the whole center of girls , the Lifewater/Samaritan Clinic, the Samaritan Children Center for boys and to the water kiosk for the community around the centers. The water will serve 88 children from our Girls center and boys center, an average of 20 people per day in the clinic and an average of 1000 people surrounding our two children centers. Once again God bless all the donors who through God’s provision have made this project a success. Report by: Pr.David W. Maina Managing Director The Lifewater Kenya.
The Lifewater Kenya, a NGO, is running a home, a school and a clinic for disadvantaged girls, mainly orphans, former street girls and recently from internally displaced peoples (IDPs). Construction work is ongoing for more girls homes and in future up-grade the clinic to a fully fledged hospital. The main constraint to this expansion is water. Although it has piped water from the Water and sanitation company (Nawasco), the pipes are almost permanently dry due to the high demand in the general area. The home is forced to buy water from vendors at exorbitant prices. It is estimated that the home and the related institutions will require about 40 cubic meters of water daily for institutional purposes. A submersible pump has been established on this well, construction for the Control panel room and the water kiosk has been completed through the generosity of subsidary sponsors. We are very grateful to Lifewater Canada for you have helped us and we do appreciate that very much and may God bless you and all those who gave towards this project. Thank you. Yours in Christ, Pr.David W. Maina Managing Director The Lifewater Kenya.
