A message from the community

The entire community of Ledi writes this letter to show their appreciation of the water pump repairs you have helped to do in the community. We are very grateful. May God reward you for the good work. We say it again and again -- thank you so much.

Some community details (provided by our in-country partners)

This is one of several communities in Nigeria’s Federal Capital Territory that had wells but the hand pumps on them were not properly maintained. They had broken down. This created long lines of people waiting to fetch water for the wells still functioning. Those who could not bear the wait resorted to open hand-dug wells that were often contaminated.

Lifewater repaired the hand pumps on wells in several communities, including this one. Our intervention meant there were more wells to meet everyone’s water needs. People didn’t need to drink from contaminated sources, which has scaled down the incidences of waterborne infections.

We are grateful to God for the opportunity to serve these communities, which expressed their deep gratitude to everyone whose sacrifice made this happen.

Every $1 you give provides a child with safe water for a year!
