A message from the community

Dear Lifewater & Sponsor,

We the people of G-4 Q#3 would like to extend our thanks and appreciation for installing a hand pump for us. It is our hope that you will be able to continue to help other people.

With this new pump, we will now have safe drinking water all year round. Even more, our women and girls no longer will be so exposed to this terrifying COVID pandemic, as they no longer have to crowd around the bad well, trying to coax small amount of recharge water out over a long amount of time.

May God bless you and continue to give you strength and direction.

Warm regards,

Siaffa Massaquoi, Chairman

Some community details (provided by our in-country partners)

G-4 Community Quarter#3 is located along one of Liberia's#39 busiest highways which leads to the western part of the country side outside of the city of Brewerville. This community was founded in the late 1990's when the brutal Liberian civil war raged, claiming the lives of over 350,000 people.

This community has one primary school, a secondary school and a mosque, but no health clinic. The only source of water accessible has been hand dug wells, which are unsafe for consumption causing many water borne diseases.

Many lives will be saved because the people now have a new well, providing safe drinking water.

On February 29, 2020 a Health & Hygiene Workshop was held in this community with 22 in attendance. Members of the community learned about the dangers of drinking from hand dug wells, and understood they should only drink from the newly constructed well.

This well was drilled as part of a cooperative NGO initiative to provide safe drinking water to all Liberian's. Thanks to ''The Last Well Inc.'' for their coordination and support!
