Dear Lifewater & Sponsor(s), On behalf of the chair and members of our community, we want to highly congratulate you for the kind gesture by installing a hand pump for safe drinking water within our community. We highly appreciate you for this hand pump, it has been a long time since a hand pump that was built by Unicef was damaged, and not in use. Many thankls and may God Bless you. Sincerely yours, N.Myers Nimely, Chairman |

Sundaygar Town Q#5 is located along the Robert International Airport Highway within the Margibi County. This quarter is the furthest from the main road. This town has approximately 820 people, mostly women and children, they do not have a school or a clinic. The children walk 45 minutes every day to get to a school, and the same distance to get medical attention. The people work for various contractors to make their living. The main water source for this group has been from hand dug wells, which are not safe for drinking. On September 16, 2019 Lifewater Liberia conducted a Health & Hygiene Workshop for this community with 30 participants. The participants really wanted to know what this workshop was all about. They were taught how to keep their community clean, to help prevent the flies and mosquitoes from breeding easily. The people learned that their hands must always be washed before eating and after using the toilet. They were so very happy to learn how to protect themselves from water borne diseases. Safe clean water flows for children and their families in Sundaygar Town Q#5. The people pledged to keep the pump working in good condition and to call if they ever needed help fixing it.
This well was drilled as part of a cooperative NGO initiative to provide safe drinking water to all Liberian's. Thanks to ''The Last Well Inc.'' for their coordination and support! |
