A message from the community

Dear Lifewater Family,

We thank you very much for the hand pump we received. We like the way you help us with this pump. We have waited a long time to get one but we had no idea how much it would improve our lives.

So much time and effort is now not only do we have water close at hand but we are not getting sick as much.

We ask that our God Bless you all for this gift.

Thank you,

Mansba Queve, Senior Man

Some community details (provided by our in-country partners)

Pleemu Town is located in the district of Todee, in rural Montserrado County. This town was established by a man named Kpanna Kokolee but was destroyed by fire. Later it was re-established by a Solomon B Singbah from another county and was named in the Kpelle language 'Pleemu' which translates to 'Parasite Tree', a tree in the area that does not stand alone for growth but rest on another for support.

This town has approximately 850 citizens, mostly young people. This area has a church, public school and a clinic that was constructed by an NGO but is now run by the Government of Liberia. The clinic is very basic and did not even have safe water to care for people!

The lack of safe drinking water has been a serious challenge for the locals, and many have suffered sickness and disease from drinking contaminated water.

On October 22, 2019 Lifewater Liberia conducted a Health & Hygiene Workshop for this community with 21 participants. The people learned the importance of a clean environment and how important it is to wash their hands regularly.

This new well will provide safe clean water for children and their families for many years to come.

This well was drilled as part of a cooperative NGO initiative to provide safe drinking water to all Liberian's. Thanks to ''The Last Well Inc.'' for their coordination and support!
