Sundaygar Town Q#3 is located near the local market junction, also know as Apollo Guest House within the Margibi County. This community was established by William Sundaygar and named after him who is now deceased. This town has approximately 950 citizens, and does not have a school nor a clinic, therefore parents send their kids far away to attend school and to get medical attention. This area is very swampy and during the rainy season most of the homes will flood, becoming partly submerged in water. Providing drinking water becomes extremely difficult, and as a result some will resort to drinking the swampy water, making them very sick. On September 14, 2019 Lifewater Liberia conducted a Health & Hygiene Workshop for this community with 25 participants. The people learned the importance of a clean environment and how to help reduce the amount of flies and mosquitoes around their homes, by keeping the grass cut. The workshop lifted their spirits and motivated them to commence cleaning around their community. This new well will not be affected by the flooding waters during the rainy season, providing safe clean water for children and their families.
This well was drilled as part of a cooperative NGO initiative to provide safe drinking water to all Liberian's. Thanks to ''The Last Well Inc.'' for their coordination and support! |
