Dear Lifewater & Sponsor, We extend to you thanks and gratitude for the gift you have given to our community. We the people of Water & Sewer Quarter #4 say you will always be remembered for this great gift of God through you. It will long be cherished because a gift like this is forever. Water is Life! Sincerely, Joe Gordia, Resident
The Water and Sewer Community (Quarter#4) is located near the Monrovia Junction. This large community of mostly women and children received its name from the Water and Sanitation Annex/Station owned by the Liberian Government. This was before the Liberian civil conflict 21 years ago, that displaced thousands of people. The lack of safe drinking water has been a serious problem for this community because the only sources of water they had were from creeks and open hand dug wells, which has caused serious outbreaks of water borne diseases. This new well will provide Health & Hope to the people providing them with safe drinking water for many years to come. The Lifewater Health and Hygiene Team conducted a workshop on August 22, 2018 with 26 participants. This workshop taught the community the importance of good hygiene, and how to purify water before consumption, if needed. This has brought tremendous relief to the community, especially to the children. This well was drilled as part of a cooperative NGO initiative to provide safe drinking water to all Liberian's. Thanks to ''The Last Well Inc.'' for their coordination and support!
