This well was drilled as part of a cooperative NGO initiative to provide safe drinking water to all Liberian's. Thanks to ''The Last Well Inc.'' for their coordination and support! This community is along Liberia’s International airport main highway, that’s the Roberts International Airport (RIA). It is in the vicinity of the Shufflin Military Barracks. This town junction is where the Kermue Estate is found. The community itself appears to be an open field with vast sand and patched of savanna grasses covering the landscape. One of the inhabitants, Gayflorzee Luther, explained to our team some of the difficulties they go through in getting water especially during the dry season. Luther is a fisherman and he goes fishing as a means of livelihood for his family. According to him, the only source of water has been some hand dug well at the certain quarters of the community. But even those wells goe dry during the dry season. Gayflorzee Luther complained of the time and energy in getting water. The strength required to pull the draw bucket from the well and the distance to cover leaves one barely with no more strength to do other things. But as it is live goes on he said, I still have to provide for my kids, despite all the challenges in getting water I still have to go on with the family. Having this pump that has been constructed by Lifewater Liberia has brought so much joy to the people of this community in totality.
