On 17th of March 2015, a workshop was held for 21 participants chosen from this large community of 1500 people. This town is a newly established community along the Monrovia Kakata highway at the place that was occupied by the Mount Barclay Rubber plantation. The people of Jlazohn are faced with a serious challenge as it relates to save drinking water. There two hand dug wells that are providing water for the people in this community produces water that appears to be milky, some residences in this town has developed a system to filtrate the water before use for cooking and drinking. Most people in this town are engage with other economic activities in town, they have to awake early in the morning to get water for their homes in order to be on time. The women and children are the ones mainly involved with fetching water for their homes, the expression of joy can be seen in their faces as the new pump was being dedicated. The people of Jlazohn are grateful to Lifewater and the sponsors for providing them this pump which has given them a safe and good water source. |
