It was very expensive for residents of Komanya in Kisumu County to buy water after the hand pump on their well stopped working. Water vendors charged so much that many families had to cut back on food and other necessities to survive. Over time, many families began to reluctantly drink from the nearest river -- a contaminated source that put everyone at risk of diarrheal diseases. But thanks to our donors, Lifewater repaired the faulty pump recently. Safe and affordable water is flowing again in Komanya village.
