A message from the community |

I am deeply grateful to the Lifewater Canada, Lifewater RESCUE Kenya, the partners, donors, and staff that all contributed in various ways so that we have a well in our school. I thank you all so much for not just giving us access to clean drinking water, but for bringing development and hope to our school. May God bless you. ---School Leader |

Some community details (provided by our in-country partners) |

Mwambui Secondary School in Kenya’s Mwingi region has about two hundred students. The school’s principal, Dorothy Mutindi, says they would rely on the harvested rainwater, but that was short lived as the drought season is usually longer. While access to clean water is a perennial struggle, Dorothy says most of her students walk for kilometers to get to the school, another struggle that keeps students from schools. She had a goal to set up a boarding school for the students who lived far from the school. But that dream was usually hindered by lack of a source of water in the school. Thankfully, Lifewater RESCUE Kenya and Lifewater Canada partnered to drill a new well for the school. The students are gratefully enjoying clean and safe water, but that is not all; Dorothy is starting off her plan to establish a boarding school so as to create a conducive learning environment for all students. |
