A message from the community

The community of St. Peter Orije Catholic Church would wish to give thanks to Lifewater Canada and Stada Kenya for making access to clean and safe water possible through the construction of a new communal well. We thank you for installing a new hand pump and bring clean water close to all of us. ---Community Leaders

The community of St. Peter Orije Catholic Church Kenya's Kisumu county would harvest and drink rainwater, but this was limited to the short rainy seasons. However, when the rains stopped and the residents had exhausted the harvested rainwater, they would turn to a nearby stream for their supply of drinking and washing water. The unsafe water left them nursing waterborne diseases. Thankfully, Lifewater Canada came up with a lasting solution for the residents; drilled a well and installed a hand pump. So that come rain or sunshine, the people of St. Peter Orije Catholic Church community will always have access to clean water. The new well is supplying water to over four hundred community members.
