Despite existing water well, Haitian students constantly thirsty

When our Haiti drilling and repair team visited St. Louis Gonsague School, they learned the students were always thirsty.

Years earlier, school officials saved enough money to drill a well but “it never produced enough water,” recalled Adius Alce, the well’s official caretaker.

Lifewater Canada responded, thanks to donors like you, by drilling a well that goes down 40 meters to tap into an aquifer (or water-filled layer underground) that has ensured an abundant and steady supply of water for St. Louis Gonsague’s 500 students and staff.

“Thank you very much,” Adius told our team after the new well was completed. “May God keep blessing you.”

And may God keep blessing our donors who make all these potentially life-saving projects possible.

Later, we drilled a water well for other Haitian boys and girls at Fierbout School – after which we received a letter saying:

“We send our best wishes of thanks for this precious treasure, which will serve not only the school, but the community in general, Water is life. Continue to save the Haitian people!”
