A message from the community

We are very happy with the work done by the hand pump repair team to restore water in our school for our students. On behalf of our students and the whole community, we thank you so much for fixing our broken hand pumps. ---School Leaders

Some community details (provided by our in-country partners)

Children began missing classes and women began missing income-earning time after the hand pumps on the two wells serving Obumba Primary School and the surrounding community stopped working and everyone -- the students and their parents -- had to go out in search of water. The only available source was a dirty river kilometres away. The walk to and from this source was time-consuming and tiring. And sadly, the water brought back was dirty so it caused young and old to become sick with diarrhea or other illnesses. But recently, Lifewater and Service to Servants, non-profit organization in Liberia, visited Obumba Primary School and, thanks to our donors, repaired the broken pumps, including this one. The grateful community has safe water again.
