Some community details (provided by our in-country partners)

When the hand pump on their only water well failed three months ago, everyone in Wangaya 2 Ko'Oywala had to begin drinking from the nearest river. Getting to and from the river ate up energy and time for the women and children doing most of the water-gathering. Women missed out on time needed to care for their families and earn income. Children missed out on time in school. And sadly, the water they brought home was contaminated – leaving young and old at risk of diarrheal diseases. But through the generous support of our donors, Lifewater and Stada Kenya have restored Wangaya 2 Ko'Oywala’s access to safe water by repairing the new hand pump.
