Gnawnu I is a predominantly farming community tucked in a quieter corner in Kuje Area Council, FCT Abuja, where families sustain themselves through crop cultivation. the community had long struggled with inadequate access to safe water after the community main borehole had fell into disrepair. This forced residents to rely on unsafe open stagnant ponds which were often contaminated and with roaming livestock. Women and children spent hours daily traveling to these distant water points, exposing themselves to health risks and reducing time for education and farming. Waterborne diseases became common, affecting the wellbeing of everyone in the community. With the help of Lifewater help and support the damage borehole was repaired. The community has experienced notable improvements in health, school attendance, and farming activities after the repair. The community expresses heartfelt thanks to Lifewater for restoring their access to safe water.
