I am writing on behalf of Kwaku I community to sincerely express our heartfelt appreciation for your effort in our borehole. We are grateful for these humanitarian services. May God bless you all. Yours faithfully, Musa Mohammed 08130158460
Kwaku I is a vibrant community located along the outskirt of Kuje Area Council, FCT Abuja. The residents are known for their dedication to cultivating crops and engaging in small businesses that support their families. However, despite the community’s industrious spirit, access to safe water had been a significant challenge. During the dry season, life becomes hard due to severe water scarcity. Every morning before sunrise, women and young girls walked several kilometres to a small stream that dries up after little fetch. The journey was tiring and often dangerous, especially for children who left home before dawn just to fetch a few jerrycans of water. water vendors sell unreliable water at high cost making it difficult for all to buy. The unsafe water caused constant sickness as typhoid and cholera became common in many households. When Lifewater came to Kwaku I, the repair team assessed the old borehole and repaired the faulty hand pump. Today, families in Kwaku I no longer wake up in fear of where to find water. Children attend school regularly, and women use their mornings for productive work. The presence of safe flowing water in the community has brought peace back to daily life. The residents of Kwaku I express deep gratitude to Lifewater for the huge assistance of bringing safe drinking water back to their community.
