On behalf of the entire members of Sullu II community, I write to show our gratitude for the repair of our borehole in our community. We look forward to maintaining a good working relationship with you and also pledge to keep to standard of care of the borehole. Your faithfully, Haggai Kaura Chairman
Sullu II is a farming community in Gurara Local Government, Niger State. The only borehole in the community broke down months ago, and since then, residents relied on small, hand-dug wells and nearby streams for water. These unreliable sources carried dirt and animal waste most of the time. The journey to fetch water was long and tiring, mostly done by women and children who sometimes spent hours walking under the sun to fill a few jerrycans. Many fell sick with typhoid and diarrhea, and it became common to see children miss school just to help fetch water. During our visit, we repaired the community's broken borehole. The excitement that followed was overwhelming as women and children celebrated the return of safe water. Today, Sullu II enjoys consistent access to safe water, health conditions have improved, and women can focus more on their farms and businesses. Children attend school regularly, and the long hours once spent fetching water are now used productively. The people of Sullu II warmly thank Lifewater for bringing this lasting change to their lives.
