Dullu is one of the agrarian settlements in the southern part of Kaduna State, within the Kagarko Local Government Area. Dullu faced persistent challenges related to water supply. The community’s main hand-pump borehole had stopped working some time ago. With a failed pump and limited options, families resorted to fetching water from nearby streams and hand dug wells, which are often contaminated. women and children had to travel long distances, sometimes up to 30-45 minutes each way, just to fetch water. When the team from Lifewater repair team arrived in Dullu, we repaired the broken. The atmosphere after safe water began to flow was one of relief and celebration. Mothers filled their buckets and children cheered in excitement. This intervention has significantly improved access to safe water, leading to a reduction in waterborne illnesses and freeing up time for education and economic activities. The residents of Dullu express deep gratitude to Lifewater for the impactful support.
