Kwalata is a close-knit agrarian communityin Paikoro Local Government, Niger State. The community’s hand pump borehole had broken down long ago, forcing people to depend on an open well and stream near the outskirts of the village. The water from the well and stream was often dirty and unsafe. Women spent hours waiting in line to fetch water and the people frequently fall sick due to outbreaks of waterborne diseases. When Lifewater came to Kwalata, things changed. The repair team examined the borehole, and safe water was restored right back in the community. Families now enjoy safe water within the community, leading to better healthier children, and more productive days. The people of Kwalata express deep gratitude to Lifewater for the timely intervention that has turned hardship into relief .
