Bakin Kasuwa is a lively farming community in Paikoro Local Government, Niger State, with about 1,350 residents. Most residents are farmers and traders who depend on their daily income to sustain their families. For several months, life became unbearable after the only functional borehole developed a fault and stopped working. With no safe water source, residents turned to an open well that often became dirty whenever it rained. This forced women and children to walk long distances daily for water, exposing them to health risks and making everyday life difficult. When Lifewater's team arrived, it was a day of joy for the people of Bakin Kasuwa. The team quickly assessed the borehole and repaired the damaged parts. Since the repair, Bakin Kasuwa has witnessed a remarkable change. Families now thrive again as people have easy access to safe water and improved health. The people of Bakin Kasuwa deeply appreciate Lifewater's timely support, acknowledging that access to safe water has truly transformed their health and livelihoods.
