We, the people of Rugga Barikichi community, write to thank you for your gesture of fixing our borehole. The people of this community has been suffering from different kinds of illnesses due to dirty water consumption, which has caused a lot of challenges in our community. Rugga Barikichi is a small Fulani settlement tucked within Bosso Local Government Area of Niger State. The community, made up mostly of herders and subsistence farmers, had long depended on a single borehole for all their water needs. But when the borehole broke down nearly a year ago, life became difficult overnight. With no access to clean water, families turned to a nearby dirty stream. The water was brown, often filled with animal waste. Despite the risks, it was the only option. Children fell ill frequently. Livestock suffered. The community felt isolated and abandoned. When Lifewater learned of the situation, the team rehabilitated the borehole, replacing the damaged pump, clearing blockages, and ensuring the water was safe for drinking and daily use. Today, Rugga Barikichi is transformed. Safe water flows again, and the health of both people and animals has improved. Mothers no longer worry about what their children drink, and the community feels seen. Thanks to the compassion of Lifewater, Rugga Barikichi has found relief, dignity, and renewed strength.
