I, Amos M. Nakura, the Mai Anguwa of Gbaiko community, write to Lifewater organization for your gesture in the rehabilitation of our borehole. The people of Gbaiko community have been struggling to access clean water. They travel long distances from the community to fetch water. Meanwhile, the well we have is not yielding enough water and its get dry during the season. However, the people of Gbaiko community is no longer going through this suffering anymore. Gbaiko is a small lively settlement in Bosso Local Government Area, Niger State. The people here are mostly farmers and traders, known for their resilience and strong community ties. But for a long time, they have been facing harsh water shortage. their borehole had failed. It started with low pressure, then strange noises, and finally, the water stopped flowing completely. Residents were left with no option but turned to unsafe source. Some fetched from open while others risked long walks to distant streams. These sources were unsafe often filled with dirt, and animal waste. The water smelled bad, but it was all they had. Children fell ill regularly, often missing school, Families spent their savings on medicine, and farming activities slowed down due to lack of water. Lifewater intervened, rehabilitated the broken borehole and restored safe water to Gbaiko. Gbaiko is alive, filled with laughter and relief again. children play and drink freely, and the stress of daily survival has lifted. The people of Gbaiko community offers heartfelt prayers to Lifewater whose generosity made this transformation possible.
