A message from the community

I, Mallam Ahmadu Galadima, the village Head of Tsoho Daga community, write to appreciate Lifewater organization for their assistance in the rehabilitation of our long time damaged borehole in our community. Since the damaged borehole, the people of our community have been going to long distance place (stream) to fetch dirty water for drinking and domestic use. I shall be very grateful if our request is given due consideration. Yours faithfully, Yahaya Galadima 09023857856

Some community details (provided by our in-country partners)

Tsoho Daga community is located in Bosso Local Government Area of Niger State. It’s a quiet, farming village where most families grow crops to survive. But for months, the community faced severe water challenges after their only borehole stopped working. It made strange, heavy sounds, then it stopped altogether. With no way to pay for repairs, people had to fetch water from a nearby stream dirty, unsafe, and shared with animals or walk far into another village just to fill a container. Children got sick often. Typhoid became common. Parents spent more on medicine than food, yet the sickness kept coming back. Everything changed when Lifewater visited the team got to work and rehabilitated the borehole in no time. They didn’t just fix the borehole, they brought relief. Now, Tsoho Daga feels alive again as they now drink without fear, mothers no longer worry each time they fetch water for their children to drink, Children are healthier and can go to school instead of walking long distances with heavy buckets. The whole village is grateful. Thanks to the support of lifewater, Tsoho Daga is no longer struggling. They have clean water as they have left the days of thirst and sickness behind, stepping into a future filled with health and hope.
