Access to clean and safe water was never a problem in Ugwe Primary School in Kisumu county, until the hand pump on the well serving the school stopped working. The students would then collect cleaning water from a nearby pool of stagnant water, even though they were not drinking from it, they still suffered skin rush from washing from it. Seeing that clean drinking water was inaccessible, students would stay dehydrated for hours while they were in school. But through the generosity of our donors, we repaired the broken hand pump, therefore giving students from Ugwe Primary School access to clean and safe drinking and washing water.
