God bless you people, we didn't know that it was the rod. After replacement of the rod and seal, the well is working. Thank you Yours, Sangoro Omollo

Some community details (provided by our in-country partners)

Mao Comprehensive School is located in Kenya's Kisumu county. The school used to draw water from a well within the school compound. Sadly their hand pump broke down a few months ago and this coerced the students to use rainwater or gather water from nearby wells to run school activities. This water was not only unsafe but one would also walk for long distances to access it. Lifewater Canada came to their refuge and repaired the broken hand pump, thus allowing the school to get water from the well inside their compound.
