When the hand pump on their only water well failed a month ago, everyone in Lower Bonde had to begin drinking from the nearest river. Getting to and from the river ate up energy and time for the women and children doing most of the water-gathering. And sadly, the water they brought home was contaminated – leaving young and old at risk of diarrheal diseases. But through the generous support of our donors, Lifewater has restored Lower Bonde’s access to safe water by fixing the broken hand pump.
