Jatapi

We write this letter to thank you for organizing a workshop on menstrual hygiene and sanitation to the senior secondary school Paikon-Kore Gwagwalada, FCT-Abuja. It was quiet enlightening and informative competition. The students not only enjoyed the workshop but they have learnt a lot. They will forever be grateful. Jatapi is a small village located within Bosso Local Government of Niger State, known for its hardworking farmers. The village depended on one hand pump for all their water needs for a long time. But when the borehole broke down, everything became difficult. People had to walk far to fetch water from an open stream, the same place where domestic animals drank. The water wasn't safe, but they had no choice. Children fell sick often. Mothers spent hours queuing for water. Some gave up on their farms and small trades just to focus on finding water for their homes and caring for their sick family members. When Lifewater heard what was happening in Jatapi, help arrived. The broken borehole was fixed, and the hand pump was restored to full use. Safe water began flowing again, and it changed everything. Smiles returned to the faces of women and children. No more long walks or sickness from dirty water. The people of Jatapi are deeply grateful and won't forget this kindness.
