Issah Makaraanta is located in the Kagarko Local Government area of Kaduna State. The community faced a severe water scarcity for months. When their community borehole broke down, access to water became a desperate struggle. Residents were forced to trek to a distant stream or even worse, resort to open wells. These wells were far from safe, often hosting frogs and even dead lizards floating in the water. Despite the foul smell, with no other options, residents had no choice but to fetch and drink from these contaminated sources. This dire situation had devastating consequences: children frequently fell ill, and the little money families had for food was instead spent on medical treatments. When Lifewater's attention was brought to this humanitarian concern, we responded swiftly by rehabilitating their broken borehole. Today, the story in Issah Makaraanta is one of profound transformation. Safe water is now flowing freely in the community, bringing with it improved health and immense joy. The community is deeply grateful for the love shown, praying that divine blessings continue to be bestowed upon the generous donors who made this life-changing intervention possible.
