A message from the community

I just wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude for the rehabilitation of our borehole at Maje 3 community. I am so grateful to Lifewater for the time you took. Thank you again for being an incredible person. Yours faithfully, 08072232893

Some community details (provided by our in-country partners)

The Maje III community, an agrarian area in northern Suleja, close to Nigeria's capital city, Abuja, faced an agonizing water crisis. Like many surrounding communities, Maje III endured an excruciating water shortage that deeply impacted daily life. For months, residents lived without safe water, forced to trek to an unsafe river filled with waste from domestic animals. This desperate situation led to serious consequences: children struggled to attend school, and women found it incredibly difficult to cook due to the scarcity. The journey to the river itself was fraught with danger, with residents frequently beaten by snakes. Compounding these risks, many families were forced to spend their meager earnings on hospital visits due to illnesses caused by consuming the contaminated water. The pervasive presence of worms in their water meant that even basic hygiene was compromised, with many going to bed without bathing. Moved by this profound humanitarian crisis, Lifewater intervened by rehabilitating Maje III's broken borehole. Now, the community has access to safe water close to their homes. This vital change brings immense peace of mind to both children and women, freeing them from the constant fear of snake bites and devastating waterborne diseases. The Maje III community is deeply grateful for Lifewater's compassionate intervention and offers heartfelt prayers that God continues to strengthen the generous donors who made this life-changing project possible.
