A message from the community

We as Kalilii Community we are so much thankful for the good support from Lifewater RESCUE Kenya. Kalilii community was in a very bad problem of water shortage but for now we are in a good condition. Earlier, water point was about 10km from our village but for now water is with us. Thank you so much Lifewater RESCUE Kenya and the Lord bless you always. Yours faithfully, Julius Muthei

Kalilii community in Mwingi region, Kenya has never had access to clean and safe drinking water. The villagers would drink from shallow wells hand dug on dry riverbeds. The shallow wells have been the community’s only source of water, especially ruing the dry season. The dry season is the longest season in the region. The villagers of Kalilii did not hesitate to ask for help from Lifewater Canada when they learned that Lifewater Canada was increasing accessibility to clean water in the community. Lifewater Canada responded to the community’s call by partnering with Lifewater RESCUE Kenya to drill a well in Kalilii community and install a hand pump. The new well is now a source of clean water t the villagers who have gratefully shunned the use of shallow wells in the community.
