A message from the community

Tuesday 20 May 20, 2025 Kal Batiman. Dear Donor, We thank you for your amazing gift for the construction of a new well in our community. Your generosity has truly made a difference. For years we struggled to access clean water and the repercussions were intense an increase in waterborne illnesses like diarrhea , e-coli, dysentery , long walks that often left us tired , a decrease in attendance in school… Thanks to your compassion we now have a reliable source of clean and potable water , we are recovering from the illnesses , the community is thriving all thanks to you . We are extremely thankful. The community of Kal Batiman.

Around 300 people will make use of this well. Previously, people here would walk a one hour round trip to the nearest well, sometimes twice a day while also purchasing water as a supplement. One community member said they spend 400 Goudes weekly on water.
