For over a decade, Christ Apostolic Church, Dukpa stood as a spiritual beacon in its Niger State community. However, the drying up and subsequent collapse of its unreliable hand-dug well plunged the congregation into an unexpected crisis, impacting not only practicalities but also the very essence of their worship and fellowship. Mrs. Abubakar, a devoted member of over ten years, vividly recalls the hardship. "My name is Mrs Abubakar, and I have worshipped at Christ Apostolic Church for over 10 years, but I had never seen our congregation struggle like we did when our water source dried up. The hand dug well behind the church had long been unreliable, but when it finally collapsed, things became unbearable. Baptisms, cleansing rituals, everything halted. Our church restrooms became a disgrace, and members stopped staying for fellowship after services." Mrs. Abubakar's words paint a picture of a spiritual sanctuary struggling with a fundamental lack of a basic necessity. Essential religious practices like baptisms and cleansing rituals came to a standstill. The unhygienic state of the church restrooms created discomfort and deterred members from staying for fellowship, weakening the bonds of community. The very heart of their congregation was affected by the absence of clean water. However, the arrival of Lifewater brought a wave of relief and revival. "Then came the new well Lifewater gave us," Mrs. Abubakar recounts with joy. The provision of a reliable source of clean water marked a turning point for the church and its members. The commissioning of the well was a moment of profound emotion and gratitude. "I remember the day it was commissioned, the women shouting with joy, the children danced, and our pastor wept openly in thanksgiving for this great gift," Mrs. Abubakar shares, highlighting the deep impact of Lifewater's generosity. The transformation has been remarkable. "Now, the church radiates purity again. Baptisms flow smoothly, members can refresh themselves, and fellowship has never been this stronger," Mrs. Abubakar affirms. Clean water has not only restored essential functions but has also revitalized the spiritual atmosphere and strengthened the sense of community within the church. Mrs. Abubakar concludes with heartfelt appreciation: "Water has given us back our spiritual sanctuary, and we owe Lifewater every appreciation for this good work. Thank you so much."
