Some community details (provided by our in-country partners)

Located within the Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, the community of Takalafiya Fulani faced a critical water shortage when their borehole, their sole source of water for both domestic use and livestock, stopped working. This breakdown forced them to rely on distant and unsafe muddy ponds, impacting both the health of the people and their livestock. As Usman Mailafiya, a resident of Takalafiya Fulani, recounts with profound gratitude: "My name is Usman Mailafiya. Thank you Lifewater for coming to our rescue. The community depended on the borehole that stopped working for all our water needs, from drinking to watering their livestock. Without it, we were left to rely on muddy ponds that were both distant and unsafe. The livestock suffered, and so did the people, as waterborne diseases became a common occurrence. When Lifewater arrived, they wasted no time in assessing the damage and setting to work. Within hours, the borehole was repaired, and clean water flowed freely once again. For our community, the repair signified restored health, dignity, and a brighter future. We thank Lifewater deeply for their kindness. They have brought life back to our community." The breakdown of the borehole had created a severe crisis for Takalafiya Fulani, threatening their health, their livelihoods based on livestock, and their overall way of life. The reliance on unsafe water sources had led to widespread illness and suffering. However, Lifewater's swift and efficient intervention brought immediate relief and a transformative change. By repairing the borehole in a matter of hours, Lifewater restored access to clean water, safeguarding the health of the community and their livestock, and bringing back a sense of dignity and hope for a brighter future. Usman Mailafiya's heartfelt gratitude underscores the profound impact of Lifewater's kindness in revitalizing their community.
