Some community details (provided by our in-country partners)

Within the Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, Zango Primary School faced a significant obstacle to providing quality education when its borehole, a vital source of clean water, fell into disrepair. This lack of a reliable water source impacted the health and well-being of both students and teachers, hindering the learning environment. As Elizabeth Emmanuel, a teacher at Zango Primary School, recounts with deep gratitude: "I am Elizabeth Emmanuel, a teacher here in Zango Primary School. The broken borehole at Zango Primary School was more than an inconvenience to us, as it was a barrier to quality education. Students and teachers struggled without a reliable source of clean water. Children often brought water from home, but it was not enough to meet the school's needs for drinking, hygiene, and sanitation. The health of our students began to decline, leading to frequent absenteeism and a drop in academic performance." The absence of a functional borehole had created a multitude of challenges for Zango Primary School, affecting students' health, attendance, and academic performance, while also making it difficult to maintain a clean and healthy learning environment. However, Lifewater's intervention brought a transformative change to the school. By repairing the borehole and ensuring a reliable source of clean water on the school grounds, Lifewater directly addressed these challenges. "Lifewater's intervention marked a turning point. The organization repaired the borehole, ensuring that clean water was available right on the school grounds. The impact was transformative. Our students could now focus on their studies, and teachers could maintain a clean and healthy environment for learning. This borehole is a blessing; it has brought a new wave of energy and hope to our school. We are deeply grateful to Lifewater for this life-changing intervention." For Zango Primary School, Lifewater's support has been invaluable, creating a healthier, more conducive learning environment and fostering a renewed sense of energy and hope within the school community.
