Some community details (provided by our in-country partners)

Located within the Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, the community of Gwagwa faced a critical need for more clean water sources, relying solely on a dilapidated borehole and an undrinkable stream shared with animals. This lack of safe water posed a significant health risk to the entire community. As Danlami Sariki, the chief of Gwagwa community, recounts with heartfelt gratitude: "My name is Danlami Sariki, the chef of Gwagwa community; our major challenge in this community is the need for more water. We don't have any clean sources of water aside from the dilapidated borehole. The stream's water is undrinkable because we share it with animals. For months, we had no access to clean water, relying on unsafe water from the stream that posed huge health risks. Lifewater intervention in repairing the dilapidated borehole was a turning point for the community. The repair not only restored access to clean water but also alleviated the hardships faced by the residents. Thank you Lifewater for restoring clean safe drinking water back to our community. May God bless you abundantly." The dire situation in Gwagwa, with its reliance on a contaminated stream, placed the community at constant risk of waterborne diseases. The dilapidated borehole offered little respite, leaving the residents in a precarious position. However, Lifewater's intervention in repairing the borehole proved to be a turning point for Gwagwa. By restoring access to clean water, Lifewater directly addressed the community's major challenge, alleviating the hardships and health risks associated with their previous water sources. Chief Danlami Sariki's gratitude reflects the profound impact of Lifewater's support in bringing clean, safe drinking water back to Gwagwa, offering hope for a healthier future.
