Located within the Karu Local Government Area, the community of Maraba Shamaki faced a significant hardship when their community borehole broke down, leaving residents struggling to access clean water for months. This lack of a basic necessity led to health concerns and placed a heavy burden on the women and children, who were forced to seek water from unsafe and distant sources. The water we get from the stream smells so bad and so unhygienic for consumption."
