A message from the community |
On behalf of the entire community, I extend my thanks and appreciation to you and your entire staff and also to the repair team for coming to our aid to make sure that our pump is (repaired and) in good condition. James Toe, Zone Leader |
Some community details (provided by our in-country partners) |
Fanti Town Q2 is in the lower part of the Liberia Bechana Seaport in Grand Bassa County. Many of the villagers bake bread as their main source of income. The Afridev hand pump on their water well failed recently. Some people could afford to buy mineral water but most began walking long distances to a creek. Children missed their school classes while they were searching for water. Lifewater Liberia visited the area and repaired the hand pump. The villagers were very happy with the repair team’s intervention. Bringing safe drinking water to the community was a great relief and a hope that people could experience healthy living again. The locals were dancing and praising God for coming to their aid.
Repair needed: Repair worn seals, replaced rods and foot valve |
