Some community details (provided by our in-country partners)

Yahaya Town is along the Monrovia Margibi Highway. The community dwellers of Yahaya practice farming as a means of survival. The lack of alternative income sources, combined with high population pressure, have resulted in a low quality of social and economic services, including poor sanitation, and extreme poverty in this town.

Lifewater’s timely intervention in the community was heartily welcomed and promoted an active participation and inclusion of all members in the work and hygiene workshop.  Everyone was grateful for the safe water supply which met their acute needs. It is noteworthy that the total time to fetch water for rural women and girls was reduced from 3-4 hours to 1 1/2 minutes after the pump repair was completed.  Time was spent with a local villager who received knowledge to better maintain the hand pump.

Every $1 you give provides a child with safe water for a year!
