This part of Water And Sewer Community sits is at the center of the city which is divided into 4 Compounds. It is where the majority of economic activities take place. Unlike her neighbors, Water And Sewer Community Q#5 is gifted with a huge amount of surface and ground water resources. However, due to the fact the community had no alternative safe drinking water source, when the hand pump spoiled, the entire community returned to their old hand-dug well  to access water.

As a result, they had frequent outbreaks of waterborne diseases once again. Meanwhile, because existing gender roles subscribe fetching water to that of women and girls, they were missing out on their businesses and schools. According to locals, they spent on average an amount of $1.50 USD a week to purchase water, which very few could afford.

Finally, through the intervention of Lifewater and its partner (donor), the community now enjoys once again safe drinking  water through a repaired hand pump.
