Flower Mill community is in Grand Bassa County. Driving into the town, sign of poverty are visible in all shapes and forms. As a result, many locals could not afford safe drinking water when their pump spoiled. In fact, the lack of safe drinking water in the town presented many challenges.

Since there were no a single alternative safe drinking water source anywhere around the town, every morning and afternoon, women and children would go to nearby communities to fetch water from the only functional hand-dug wells.

However, thanks to Lifewater, the local hand pump has been repaired. The results have far reaching by limiting the spread of water borne diseases and alleviating the high medical burden imposed on community dwellers. Additionally, the intervention has limited the rate of mortality and the impact on locals' ability to work due to poor health. Children are returning to schools to study while their parents are saving the purchase of water.
