Some community details (provided by our in-country partners)

Dark Forest Community is located within central Buchanan, a few minutes’ drive from the main road that leads to the city of Monrovia. A rural community, Dark Forest is home to many indigenous tribal men and women. Being a low-income community, the livelihood of the locals involves farming and petty trade. They welcome visiting strangers to their growing vegetation and forest landscape.

With a growing population of 2,800 couple, and very low government investment, the locals of Dark Forest lack basic social services. That’s why a spoiled hand pump on their water well further added to the community's worries.

However, Lifewater's timely intervention to repair the hand pump sent a shock wave of relief and excitement across the community. As a result, many locals openly expressed their appreciation to Lifewater.

"On behalf of my community, I am very grateful to Lifewater for restoring our hand pump," the community chairman wrote Lifewater in a touching thank-you letter.
