A message from the community

Marshall Community Quarter 2 is a town located within the heart of central Margibi County. It is a place so far in the distance that locals call it their ‘‘far-away land on earth.’’

When Marshal Community Quarter 2's pump spoiled, because the distance to another town was so far, the locals were left without any option but to begin drinking from their old source, which offered only dirty water. Locals quickly started experiencing problems of running stomach (diarrhea) and frequent clinic visits.

This broke down the town in every aspect as girls were arriving at their various schools late while also women went to their meager business late too, after fetching water.

"Me and my child would wake up every morning to haul water,’’ one local woman remembered.

"Our lives went from good to bad because we and our families always got running stomach (or diarrhea),’’ Michael Yanquah, another local of the town, explained.

‘‘When I remember the suffering we went through when this pump spoiled, it brings me sorrow,’’ another local person said.

As Lifewater exited the community, the community expressed joy and thanks for the pump that was repaired.
