Some community details (provided by our in-country partners)

"Gwekporlorsue" means Banana Bush. This community was established in 1951 by two best friends Binda Sondah and the late Jospeh Karketee. When the two friends saw the vast land they realized it was good for growing bananas. Gwekporlorsue is  located approximately five kilometers from the city of Kakata, in Margibi County, three kilometers from the "Bong Mines Highway" which leads to the iron ore mine, one of the highest in production for the nation. This community has two churches and a primary school. Small scale farming, charcoal production and some commercial activities is how they make their living. This is a populated community of 720 people, mostly youth and children. The lack of safe drinking water has been very difficult, with creeks, streams and hand dug wells as their only source of water. With the timely intervention from Lifewater Liberia, the people can now drink safe water from the new hand pump.

The Health & Hygiene team conducted a Workshop on January 07,2020 with 21 participants, to teach and demonstrate the basics of good hygiene practices, and the importance of keeping a clean environment.

This well was drilled as part of a cooperative NGO initiative to provide safe drinking water to all Liberian's. Thanks to ''The Last Well Inc.'' for their coordination and support!
