Ugwe community's only source of clean water was dormant for months after the hand pump on the well failed. Villagers, especially women, struggled to acquire water for their families as well as carrying our other house chores such as laundry. This is because other water sources, albeit not clean, are kilometer away from majority of the residents.

Thankfully, Lifewater Canada and Stada Kenya fixed the broken hand pump, thus bringing clean and safe drinking and washing water closer to the villagers.
