A message from the community |

We, the students of Mutyang'ombe Secondary School, wish to say a big thank you to Lifewater RESCUE Kenya and Lifewater Canada for seeing our struggle and giving us access to clean drinking water. Most of us come from far and when we get to school, we feel thirsty and dehydrated. We are grateful that we now have clean drinking water within our school. May God bless you all. ---School Leaders |

Some community details (provided by our in-country partners) |

Mutyang’ome Secondary School in Mwingi’s Nuu ward has about two hundred students. The students and the community rely on the rivers and springs for their supply of drinking and washing water. While some of these sources such as springs are providing clean drinking water, they are so far away from the majority of the students and residents, so far that many of them are forced to drink from the easily accessible rivers. Recently though, Lifewater Canada in partnership with Lifewater RESCUE Kenya, constructed a new well for the school, and installed a new hand pump. For the first time ever, the students from Mutyang’ome Secondary School are gratefully enjoying clean and easily accessible drinking and washing water from the school well. |
