When the hand-powered pump on their well broke down, the people of Duazon Willie were forced to revert to fetching water from swamps and from their old open, hand-dug wells. These sources are dirty, so everyone was exposed to the risk of waterborne diseases. Those few who could afford it also bought water from expensive local vendors.

Recently, Lifewater's repair team visited Duazon Willie, repaired the pump, and restored the flow of safe water -- much to the relief and joy of the residents. They offered appreciation and gratitude to the Lifewater team and our donors for restoring their precious source of safe drinking water.
